AI ChatHistory Pro ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome extension.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information Stored Locally (Default)

By default, AI ChatHistory Pro stores all data locally on your device:

• Conversation History: Messages from AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) that you choose to save
• Metadata: Chat titles, timestamps, platform names
• Settings: Your extension preferences and configuration
• Export History: Record of your export activities

Important: This local data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable Cloud Backup.

1.2 Information Collected When You Enable Cloud Backup

If you choose to enable Cloud Backup (Pro feature), the following data is backed up to your own Google Drive App Data folder:

• All conversation history stored by the extension
• Extension settings and preferences
• Backup timestamps and metadata

Note: This data is stored in a private folder that only AI ChatHistory Pro can access, using your explicit authorization.

1.3 Account Information (Pro Users Only)

When you purchase a Pro license, we collect:

• Email Address: For account identification and license management
• License Key: To verify your subscription status
• Device Identifier: A unique ID to manage device limits (up to 5 devices)

1.4 Payment Information

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller FastSpring. FastSpring is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. We do not collect or store:

• Credit card numbers
• Bank account information
• Payment credentials

These are processed securely by FastSpring according to their privacy policy.

1.5 Information We DO NOT Collect

We explicitly DO NOT collect:

• Personal information from your AI conversations
• Browsing history outside of AI platforms
• Analytics or usage tracking data
• IP addresses or geolocation data
• Device fingerprints

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:

• Core Functionality: Saving and managing your AI conversations
• Cloud Backup: Syncing your data across devices (when enabled)
• License Management: Verifying your Pro subscription status
• Customer Support: Responding to your inquiries and providing assistance
• Service Improvement: Fixing bugs and improving extension performance

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share information in the following circumstances:

3.1 Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our extension:

• Google Drive: For cloud backup storage (data stored in your private App Data folder)
• FastSpring: As the Merchant of Record for payment processing and subscription management
• Hosting Provider: For backend API services (database, authentication)

These providers have access only to the minimum information necessary to perform their functions and are contractually obligated to maintain confidentiality.

3.2 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

3.3 Business Transfers

In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company, user information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information:

• Encryption: All data transmitted between the extension and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
• Access Controls: Strict access controls limit who can access user data
• Database Security: Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage
• Regular Audits: We regularly review our security practices

Note: While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Data Protection Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

5.1 Right to Access

You can access all data stored by the extension:

• Open the extension popup to view your saved conversations
• Export your data in JSON format for a complete backup

5.2 Right to Rectification

You can correct inaccurate data by:

• Deleting incorrect conversations from the extension
• Contacting us to update your account information

5.3 Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten")

You can request deletion of your data:

• Use the "Clear All Data" feature in extension settings
• Delete individual conversations from the popup
• Contact us to delete your account and all associated data

5.4 Right to Data Portability

You can export your data at any time:

• Export conversations as JSON, PDF, Markdown, or Text files
• Download complete backup from Cloud Backup feature

5.5 Right to Withdraw Consent

You can withdraw consent at any time:

• Disable Cloud Backup in extension settings
• Revoke Google Drive access from your Google Account settings
• Uninstall the extension to remove all local data

6. International Data Transfers

Our services may involve transferring your information to countries outside your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:

• Standard contractual clauses for data transfers
• Compliance with applicable data protection laws
• Secure data transmission protocols

7. Children's Privacy

AI ChatHistory Pro is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Notifying users through the extension (for significant changes)

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes are effective immediately upon posting.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

AI ChatHistory Pro interacts with third-party AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those platforms. We encourage you to review their privacy policies:

10. Cookies and Tracking

AI ChatHistory Pro uses minimal cookies:

• Authentication Cookies: To maintain your login session (when using Pro features)
• Platform Cookies: To read authentication state from AI platforms (required for auto-capture)

We do NOT use:

• Analytics cookies
• Advertising cookies
• Tracking pixels or beacons

11. Do Not Track Disclosure

We do not track users across third-party websites, so "Do Not Track" signals do not affect our operations. We only collect data necessary for the extension's functionality.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know what personal information is collected
• Right to know if personal information is sold or disclosed
• Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we don't sell data)
• Right to delete personal information
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights

We do not sell personal information and have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

13. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights:

• Right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
• Right to restrict processing of your personal data
• Right to object to processing of your personal data
• Right to have your data deleted in certain circumstances

Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent and the necessity to perform our contract with you (providing the extension's services).
